Getting Related to Reality – The Antidote to Overwhelm

Have you ever avoided checking your bank account, replying to an email, or having a conversation because you just knew it was going to be bad – only to finally confront it and realize… it wasn’t nearly as bad as you imagined?

That’s the power of getting related to reality.

When we operate from assumptions, fear, or projections, we create stress where none is required. We spin in overwhelm because we’re reacting to what we think is happening, not what’s actually happening.

I recently spoke to someone who had been avoiding their finances for months. The pressure of “not knowing” had become its own monster. They felt like they were drowning. But the moment they looked at the numbers, they saw something unexpected – it wasn’t bad at all. In fact, they had more resources than they realized. And just like that, the fear lifted. They were free to take action.

This isn’t just about money. It applies everywhere:

Relationships – Instead of making up stories about what someone is thinking or feeling, try a direct conversation. You’ll be amazed at what opens up. Business – Instead of staying in the fog, look at your numbers, systems, and structures. Reality gives you the data you need to lead. Health – Instead of avoiding the mirror, the scale, or the appointment – face the facts. Then get into action from truth, not fear.

Here’s what I’ve learned: the moment you get related to reality, you reclaim your power.

🔍 This Week’s Invitation: Get Related

Ask yourself: Where in my life am I operating from assumption instead of reality? What’s one thing I’ve been avoiding that I could get clear on today? It could be as simple as opening an email, checking a number, or making a phone call. The action itself isn’t complicated – it’s our thinking that makes it heavy.

Action creates clarity. And action creates breakthroughs.
