Living your dream now!
Today, I want to share some thoughts that have been on my mind lately, inspired by a recent conversation I had.
One of the key takeaways from this conversation was the idea that the only time we get annoyed is when we feel that something shouldn’t be the way it is, or it should be different. It got me thinking about the power of “shoulds” and “shouldn’ts” in our lives and how they can often stand in the way of us truly living our dreams.
These “shoulds” and “shouldn’ts” are like top hits on a playlist of things that mess with us, alongside self-doubt, limiting beliefs and negative self-talk. But here’s the thing: once we start to identify and distinguish what messes with us, we can begin to dismantle those moments that are messablewith. We can create this space where we can step into our vision and live our dreams right now, in this moment.
Imagine being annoyed at something as mundane as a line at Starbucks because someone cuts in front of you. In that moment, you have a choice. You can let annoyance take over, or you can take action that aligns with your vision. Maybe it’s taking a deep breath, bringing compassion to the person’s rushed way of being or simply practicing patience. Whatever it is, that action is you living your dream in real-time.
Living your dream isn’t about waiting for some distant future where everything is perfect or where you have everything you think you need. It’s about embracing the present moment and taking steps, no matter how small, that align with and express your vision and values.
So, as we move forward, let’s remember that living our dream isn’t a someday thing—it’s a right now thing. Every moment presents an opportunity to step into that dream, no matter how big or small.
Wishing you a day filled with dream-worthy moments and actions that bring you closer to living the dream vs chasing it.
