Whatever you are hiding, runs your life.
Have you ever felt like something is holding you back, preventing you from achieving true freedom, effectiveness, and creativity in your life? Often, what stands in the way is something you’re hiding. Today, I want to talk to you about the profound impact of concealing things and how it can run your life.
The Energy Suck of Concealment
When I work with people to enhance their freedom and creativity, a common obstacle is the act of hiding something. Whether it’s a secret, a fear, or even a small habit, concealing it drains your energy and reduces your freedom. If you have to hide it, you’re not free.
The Impact of Hiding
Imagine you’re hiding something as simple as biting your nails. If I were to sit here trying to hide my nails from you, it would be weird and constraining. A lot of my attention would be on concealing what I don’t want you to see. This act of hiding can be anything—from your aspirations to start a business to a small personal habit.
Embrace Authenticity
Authenticity doesn’t mean sharing every detail of your life with everyone. It’s about acknowledging what you’re actively concealing. The energy consumed in hiding something can be overwhelming, diverting focus from being yourself and fulfilling your true potential.
The Power of Being Real
Being real and authentic allows you to connect with others genuinely. If you’re hiding something from your spouse, business partner, or even yourself, it takes a lot of energy. This constant effort leads to stress, anxiety, and a sense of disconnection from both people and your true self.
Break Free
To break free from this prison of concealment, start by identifying what you’re hiding. Ask yourself why you’re hiding it and what you fear. Being vulnerable is a strength,
not a weakness. It means being able to be real and raw, living from your purpose and vision.
Your Challenge
Here’s a challenge for you: identify something you’re hiding and reveal it to three people in your life. Notice what happens when you do this. It’s not about offloading everything indiscriminately, but about the freedom to say something you’ve been holding back.
Take the Step
Look into the corners of your life and see what you’ve been hiding that’s costing you energy. Release it to at least three people and experience the freedom it brings. This practice will free up energy for a more fulfilling and genuine existence.
Share Your Experience
I invite you to take this step and let me know what happens. Share what you bump up against, what you discover, and how it feels to release the weight of concealing. I respond to every email, so I look forward to hearing from you.
