You spot it, you got it
A good friend said something to me years ago and it really stuck with me. YOU SPOT IT, YOU GOT IT!
Have you ever noticed that when something about another person irritates you, it might actually be a reflection of something within yourself? It’s a profound realization that any irritation we feel towards others often points back to aspects of ourselves that we haven’t fully owned or taken responsibility for. For example, if someone’s arrogance bothers you, it might be because there’s a part of you that hasn’t fully embraced humility. Similarly, if you find someone too talkative, it could be a sign that you also have a tendency towards chattiness.
But here’s the flip side of that coin: when we spot something inspiring in someone else, it’s also a mirror reflecting back our own potential and true self. If someone’s courage inspires you, it’s a reminder that courage is within you as well, waiting to be fully realized.
Life, in essence, is like a full-length mirror. What we see in others is a reflection of who we are—good, bad, or ugly. It’s an opportunity for self-discovery and growth, a chance to be fully responsible for ourselves without being limited by blind spots.
When we can acknowledge and embrace both our strengths and weaknesses, we unlock incredible potential. Seeing our arrogance allows us to address it; recognizing our courage empowers us to harness it for positive change. Even our fears and vulnerabilities, when acknowledged, can become sources of strength and empathy.
So, I invite you to view life and the people around you as mirrors. Take the opportunity to discover who you truly are, beyond the surface. Embrace the reflections, learn from them, and continue growing into the best version of yourself.
Here’s to a journey of self-discovery and being unmessablewith!
